Kaya Kaya Streetfest

Once every year, the streets of Otrobanda explode with color, music, and creativity during the Kaya Kaya Street Party—Curaçao’s most talked-about community event. What started as a neighborhood clean-up and beautification project has grown into a massive street festival that celebrates art, culture, and togetherness.

For 48 hours, Otrobanda becomes an open-air stage. Local and international artists paint murals on the historic walls, DJs and bands keep the music flowing from multiple stages, and food stalls serve up everything from traditional krioyo dishes to international flavors. It’s a sensory feast where thousands gather to dance, eat, and celebrate Curaçao’s vibrant cultural heartbeat.

But Kaya Kaya is more than just a party—it’s a movement. Every edition leaves a lasting mark, with permanent art installations, neighborhood clean-ups, and a strengthened sense of community pride. For locals, it’s a chance to showcase Curaçao’s creativity and resilience. For visitors, it’s an invitation to experience the island beyond the beaches and dive into the soul of Otrobanda.

With its bold murals, electric energy, and strong community roots, Kaya Kaya is a reminder that Curaçao’s culture is alive, thriving, and always evolving.
