Otrobanda is one of the 5 main city districts, and it’s the cultural powerhouse of Willemstad and that’s clearly visible as soon as you arrive. Its residents are a melting pot of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds; the way it has been for over three centuries.
Formerly known as one of the most sketchy parts of town due to decades of economic hardships and neglect, many buildings have become ruins. Thankfully, efforts to restore these monumental buildings have brought back life into Otrobanda. Today, the neighborhood is one of the fastest growing residential areas, along with many new hotels, bars, and restaurants

Turn right on Prins Hendrikstraat: This street has some great murals and graffiti pieces, including a mural of a man’s face and a colorful mural of a woman’s face.
- Continue down Prins Hendrikstraat and turn left on Breedestraat: This will bring you back to your starting point at Plaza Brion.
